- there is always one more thing we should have told you or one more point we should have re-emphasized. Although we know you need to try your independence (and we want you to) our love for you makes it hard to let go.
I am no different. Although I have not been physically in your presence for much of your life there is not a day that goes by that you are not in my thoughts. I have come to believe in guardian angels and since mine has taken such good care of me I have asked him (although I know you will do just fine) to keep watch over you until you discover your own guardian angel.
And while I am on the subject of angels there are some here on earth that have been instrumental in my life. These are family and friends (over and above Mom, Dad, Uncle Paul) that I would trust with my life – and yours! They include – Lin and Bud, Uncle Don, Owen and Cindy, Mickey and Penny. If for any reason your mom (or Deb) and I are not available and you need help or advice I encourage you to call any (or all) of them.
I guess what I’m trying to say sweetie, is that as you embark on your adventures your mom and I want you to have the best life you can have. Enjoy the good times and learn from the bad times. You always have more appreciation for the sun after a little rain has fallen. When times are troubled or you are feeling low – never give up, for it will pass.
We want you to know that whether you are near us or far away we will always be with you. Whenever you encounter situations where you could use a little strength and encouragement, (such as applying for a new job) look around you - our spirits will be standing beside you. When-ever you are feeling lonely remember you have a mom and dad who love you (and an angel who watches over you).
And don’t forget us when things are going well. We want to share in your good times too!
Have a wonderful life precious daughter –
With the greatest of affection,
Dad
