Looking for someone
She didn't even know
She pursued the prints
Outlined in the snow
The footsteps were faded
Dulled by the blowing wind
But onward she struggled
Searching for next of kin
Questioning every stranger
She met during the day
About her missing family
That had trekked this way
"Pardon me, kind sir
Do you know my mother
How about a sister
Or maybe a brother?
Can you help me Ma'am
Tell me what you know
Who made the footprints
I'm following in the snow?
For there are no branches
Hanging from my tree
I really need for someone
To look a lot like me"
The wind picked up her cry
And carried it to me
For it knew all along
I was her family
I looked into her heart
As far as I could see
And darned if she didn't
Look a lot like me
Now I have a new sister
And she has a brother
I couldn't be happier
For I really do love her!
