... Of Surviving the Wilderness
Where is my shoe
The car won't start
The lights are all red
There's nowhere to park
You're late, the meetings over
There's the phone, lines 2 & 3
The computers down, I've lost my file
Why is everyone yelling at me
I should've stayed in bed
Can it be all worthwhile
Then I thought of you
And I smiled
Romantic love, family love, platonic love, lost love, ideal love, troubled love ...Through-out the ages great poets have written about the many sides of love.
Although you will find no pretense of greatness here, my poets sole, from time to time, insists on being let loose and record insights and emotions that otherwise would quickly fade from memory.
These poems were inspired by real events in my life.
I offer them to you in the hope that they will give you a smile, a warm remembrance, comfort or maybe inspiration, as they have done for me.
The Symbol of the Rainbow has many meanings.
Most common are as a blessing, new hope, emergence from a difficult period or as a symbol of forthcoming success or prosperity
As children my sister and I would tear outside after a storm (I still do) looking for the rainbow and it’s promise of a brighter future (or a pot of gold).
That is why I have chosen it as the title for my collection and why it is included in many of the poems.
A Little ditty to get you started:
