“A picture is worth a thousand words” - can be very true but there are times when it takes the written word to inspire the imagination, to stir the emotions or bring clarity to the world we live in - especially if they are combined with pictures.

This isn’t my home but I like the picture and the flowing water. So when the world gets hectic and I want to escape for awhile, this is where I send my mind to.

In the Good Ol’ Days and The Simple Life my sister Lin and I fondly look back at being raised on a farm in the 1950”s.
Hopefully you all had a favorite aunt or uncle that enriched your life as much as mine did for me.
I pay tribute to Uncle Paul in an often humorous look back at some of the things I learned when neither he nor I knew I was paying attention.
Plus, after being a confirmed bachelor for 78 years Paul surprised us all by getting married. Enjoy the day with them as I have some fun with some of the pictures taken at Paul’s Wedding.

The short story “A Bird Needs to Fly is about overcoming your fears so you can enjoy what you really want to do.
Inspired by a story I had read in “Chicken Soup for the Soul” called ‘Dear World’ I wrote my daughter a letter on her graduation from high school.

During an amazing stretch during 1994 Lin and I discovered that we had 2 sisters and a brother that we hadn’t known about.
